networkers do this.

up the phone and prospected you personally about a great opportunity?

Yes, it's a bit more commonplace in Europe than say the
United States but even so the majority of networkers restrict
their focus close to home. Why not consider broadening your approach?

are still pleasantly suprised to receive a phone call from
someone in another country.

you can literally call people for pennies on the dollar
(or BP, AUD, Lire, etc.).
